- SYNOPSIS -
Mack Mahoney is hot, popular and used to getting exactly what he wants…until he sets his sights on the new girl—Kaija Bennett. She’s an exchange student from New Zealand and attending Nelson High for three months. Mack’s never been one for love at first sight, but this chick has him feeling things he never knew existed within him and in spite of her feisty rejections, he’s determined to get
to know her.

Kaija Bennett did not escape her New Zealand high school only to be dragged into the popular crowd at Nelson High. She’s on the run from a past she wants to forget, and the attention of the gorgeous quarterback is not helping. Can she resist his pulling power and keep her secret safe? Or will the dynamic football captain unearth the truth and make her fall harder than she ever has before?

My Thoughts: Flirt Dirty And Play'em Pranks
Love at first sight, ugh Y-E-S please! This high school romance is cute that's written with beautiful messages on social acceptance, relationships, bullying and choosing your path in life. Having two characters fall instantly in love is only half the story and the rest is worth every bit of a readers time.
Running from the gossip, whispers and drama at her high school back in New Zealand, Kaija Bennett hopes time in the states will be a healthy change. But when Kaija finds herself attracted to a guy from the very group she is running from, she wonders if she can really change. Mack Mahoney is the captain and quarterback of the football, all the guys want to be him and all the girls want to get with him. Yet there's song inside him that screams for more than just football, and it isn't till he meets the new girl with green eyes that he realizes love is possible. Now if only Mack could get Kaija to open up and give their connection a shot even with all the high school social stigmas.
Overall, great story for any that love high school romances with all the drama. Mack is the oh so popular jock but with a good heart. Kaija hated what she became and how badly she hurt someone; Nelson high was to be her chance at a do over. Which is very relatable, that desire to begin anew to improve ourselves and change how we act or treat people better, is something I know I've felt each year before school started or I started at a new job. The issue of bullying was greatly tackling in this book and I love how well Jordan Ford continues to bring the issue up in each book with her couples circumstances. I can't for the reveal of who is messing with everyone by spilling secrets. Oh and by far favorite thing in the book was the prank war, which was super fun and flirty. So if you love a story where there's an insta connection but the girl wants nothing to do with popular "it" guy on campus because of her past, than this book will interest you.
